About Glossy
My world, even when colored by my personal reasoning and logic, is quite the contradiction. The assumption is that what I do is glamorous, shiny and exciting. The truth is that there is less gloss to this life than meets the eye.
Just like a magazine, my world is glossy on the outside. The inside is a mix of fun and hardship, challenges and achievements. From the world of independently published magazines to a web start-up focused on weddings, I love to wear the entrepreneur hat and I am quite familiar with the challenges.
The journey that began in 2003 with East West magazine has been marked with more of a matte finish than a glossy one, but hope, belief and hard work has remained constant. Now, I am on my second venture, BrideRush, and my personal life has changed greatly as well. Today, I am married to a musician and managing his band as an added bonus to my overflowing plate. But love is worth it.
Here, I open up about the shutting down of one business, the band, my random thoughts and the birth of my greatest idea yet. Glossy on the inside is a work in progress, it is the journey we are all on and these are just my reflections.
FYI, it is also a place for me to vent, theorize and fool myself into thinking that people really are interested in my every day, pseudo-glossy life.
